eBay's zoom feature — the one buyers use to read labels and inspect condition — only activates at 1600px or more on the longest side. This resizer preloads a 1600px width preset: drop a product photo, confirm the preview, and export a listing-ready JPG without uploading your inventory anywhere.
Minimum: 500px on the longest side, but zoom needs 1600px+ — and zoom sells, because buyers can verify condition without asking. Free-gallery listings require clean backgrounds on the primary photo and no borders or watermarks.
Square compositions (1:1) survive eBay's thumbnail crop best. Keep the product filling 80–90% of the frame.
eBay caps uploads at 7MB and re-encodes on their side. A 1600px JPG at quality 90 lands around 300–600KB — comfortably within limits while staying sharp through the platform's processing. Anything beyond ~2000px rarely adds perceived quality on eBay's viewer.
At least 1600px on the longest side to enable zoom — eBay's own recommendation. The preset here seeds exactly that width.
JPG at quality ~90. eBay accepts PNG and even GIF, but JPG keeps files small without visible loss, and the platform re-compresses uploads regardless.
Thumbnails are square-cropped; the gallery view scales. Compose square or center your product so the crop keeps the subject.
Downscaling is clean — fewer pixels, same per-pixel sharpness. Only upscaling degrades; if your source is under 1600px, reshoot or export larger rather than stretching it.
