Use | to split lines — e.g. Hero Image|600 × 400

The URL is the product — paste it anywhere and the image renders on demand, cached forever at the edge.

Your URL

/img/1200x630?bg=0984E3&fg=FFFFFF

Every wireframe, mockup and CMS template needs images before real ones exist. VectMint serves placeholder images straight from a URL — pick a size, colors and a label, then paste a link like /img/1200x630?text=Hero anywhere an <img> belongs. The image renders on demand as a crisp SVG and is cached permanently, so your layouts never wait on a slow third party.

The URL Is the Image

No downloads, no uploads, no design step. Compose the URL — size, colors, label, corner style — and drop it into HTML, Markdown, Figma, Notion or a CMS. Change the parameters and the image changes instantly, because every variant is its own permanently-cached address.

SVG That Stays Sharp

Placeholders are rendered as vector SVG, so a 4096px hero slot is as sharp as a 40px avatar thumbnail. Labels auto-fit their box, multi-line text works with the | separator, and rounded corners come from a single URL parameter.

Built for Real Projects

Five presets cover the slots you actually fill — Open Graph cards, square social posts, banners, thumbnails and avatars. Responses are served with permanent cache headers and permissive CORS, so production prototypes and staging builds can lean on them without a second thought.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use a placeholder image URL?

Paste it anywhere an image URL belongs: <img src="https://vectmint.com/img/600x400?text=Hero&bg=0984E3&fg=ffffff">, Markdown ![placeholder](url), CSS background-image, or straight into Figma and Notion. The image renders on demand.

What is the maximum placeholder size?

Each side accepts 1 to 4096 pixels. Since output is SVG, large sizes stay perfectly sharp — a 4096×4096 placeholder weighs the same few hundred bytes as a small one.

Can I use custom colors and text?

Yes — bg and fg take 3 or 6 digit hex colors, text accepts up to 128 characters with | as a line separator, and shape=rounded adds corner rounding. The generator assembles the URL for you.

Are the images cached?

Every URL is fully self-describing, so responses are marked cacheable for one year. Browsers and CDNs keep a copy after the first request, making repeat loads effectively instant.

Do the placeholders work over HTTPS and CORS?

Yes. They are served from the same HTTPS domain with Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *, so they work in canvas-based apps and cross-origin <img> usage alike.
